Technology car companies said they have just completed an agreement with Tan Son Nhat airport so that passengers have more options to pick up 4-wheel vehicles on the ground floor at lane D1 inside the TCP garage area in front of the arrival hall of the national terminal. from 17/2.
Specifically, customers using Be’s 4-wheel ride-hailing service will pick up the car from boxes 1 to 5 in lane D1, while customers ordering GrabCar will pick up cars from boxes 6 to 12 also in this lane. The fee for 4-wheel vehicles to enter lane D1 to pick up passengers is 25,000 VND.
At the same time, passengers can still choose to pick up Grab’s 4-wheel vehicles at the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of TCP garages as they are now. Meanwhile, Be maintains a pick-up point for passengers booking 4-wheel vehicles in lane B of the international arrivals area. Up to now, Tan Son Nhat airport has only allowed this ride-hailing app to pick up passengers on the ground floor of the international terminal.
With the addition of a pickup lane on the ground floor inside the TCP garage, many customers using technology car services when arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport will no longer have to spend time moving to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors. Although TCP garage has 4 elevators, in times of overload like the last Tet holiday, many passengers still have to wait in line for their turn to use the elevator or climb the stairs if they are not patient enough.
The arrangement of an additional lane D1 on the ground floor for customers to pick up technology vehicles was implemented after passengers repeatedly complained about the difficulty of catching taxis and technology at Tan Son Nhat Airport during and after the Lunar New Year holiday. . Previously, the Tan Son Nhat airport side also arranged an additional lane C for passengers to take a traditional taxi next to the existing D lane, but the situation of calling a car was still difficult.
Difficult to catch taxis, technology, passengers to Tan Son Nhat airport are approached by a series of “parachute” drivers using home cars, offering, catching customers, and offering “exorbitant” prices. Passengers who want to move from Tan Son Nhat airport to Binh Thanh district are shouted at by these drivers for 450,000 VND, to the Hanoi Highway area in the old district 2 (Thu Duc City) must pay 600,000 VND.
Recently, a representative of the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City said that it is working with relevant agencies to manage the traffic area inside the airport to come up with final measures to solve the shortage of passenger cars and price fluctuations at the Tan Son Nhat airport.
