Many activities are open for tourism, Da Nang welcomes groups of up to 800 people

Information was announced by the People’s Committee of Da Nang City at the press conference of the first quarter held on the afternoon of April 18.

According to the report of Da Nang City People’s Committee, in the first quarter of the year, the number of guests served by accommodation establishments was estimated at 257.2 thousand arrivals, down 58% compared to the same period in 2011. In which, international visitors were estimated at 6. thousand turns, down 87.9%, focusing mainly on foreign experts working and working in Vietnam. Domestic visitors were estimated at 251.2 thousand arrivals, down 55.4%. Revenue from accommodation and travel services was estimated at more than VND 806 billion, down 41.4%.

After the policy of reopening tourism activities from March 15, tourism activities have prospered. Specifically, the city has welcomed more than 4,200 M.I.C.E tourists (a type of tourism that combines conferences, seminars, exhibitions, events, reward tourism of companies for employees and partners), increasing 6 times over the same period in 2021.

In some areas and tourist attractions, hotels have attracted a large number of visitors and tourists such as: Ngu Hanh Son scenic spot welcomed 23,000 turns, up 43% over the same period in 2021; Nui Than Tai Mineral Spring Park welcomes 16,000 visitors, 2 times more than the same period in 2021…

Up to now, 749 tourism businesses in the city have returned to operation (reaching more than 40% of the total number of existing tourism businesses).

Deputy Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh said that the city is aiming for high-quality tourism – in which focusing mainly on beach resort tourism. Second, is the type of tourism M.I.C.E – The city has issued a policy of 8 groups of solutions to attract M.I.C.E tourists.

Over a period of time implementing this policy, the city has attracted more than 4,000 visitors, including a delegation of up to 800 tourists.

The next type of city to focus on is sports tourism and relaxation. TP has also worked with tour operators to attract tourists from Korea, Japan… in the coming time.

According to Mr. Binh, about green tourism, the city has a tourism development project in Hoa Vang district, which links eco-tourism and community-based tourism. This type of tourism after the epidemic is also interested by tourists. These are considered timely policies to unlock the potential of ecotourism development.

Still according to the City People’s Committee, in the coming time, restore tourism activities, deploy the plan to organize the return of tourism activities under new normal conditions. Tourism products are also interested in the issuance and implementation of a pilot project to exploit tourism services in combination with the development of agriculture, forestry and aquaculture in Hoa Vang district; put into operation APEC Park, announce CT15 inland waterway port and exploit waterway tourist routes from CT15 – Bai Da, Da Nang – Ly Son; Stimulus program to attract domestic tourists…

Along with that, submit to the City People’s Council a project of orientation for tourism development to 2030, with a vision to 2045. In May, there was a report on tourism development and management project in Son Tra peninsula.
