Italian Food Enterprises push to entrant the Vietnamese market

24/10/2022

Currently, nearly 6,000 Italian businesses are investing in Vietnam and are stepping up trade promotion, especially promoting penetration in the culinary field by introducing typical Italian products: Barilla Spaghetti noodles, olive oil Liu Filippo Berio…

Vietnam is one of 10 emerging markets in the Italian Government’s priority to develop trade and investment relations. Currently, Vietnam is also Italy’s largest trading partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

To increase trade between the two countries, on September 29, 2022, the Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with MM Mega Market Vietnam Company held the week “Discover the taste of Italy” in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Bruno Jousselin, CEO of MM Mega Market, said that promoting commercial activities that combine communication with culture and cuisine not only helps to tighten and deepen ties in the economy, but also culture and society among countries.

Particularly, Vietnamese consumers are increasingly focusing on healthy lifestyles and learning and absorbing many different culinary cultures from countries around the world, so MM Mega Market will constantly make more efforts to cooperate. with Italian businesses, to bring nutritious and quality food to the Vietnamese market.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Enrico Padula, Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, said that as a boot-shaped peninsula on the Mediterranean coast, Italian cuisine is diverse with 20 different cultural regions, each locality has its attractive features. However, Italian cuisine stands out in the diversity of cuisines in the world because of its simplicity, popularity, and sophistication.

The Italians focus on the natural taste of fresh ingredients and the purity of the dish, so the processing is usually very simple and does not require much time. It is these things that contribute to making Italian cuisine one of the healthiest cuisines in the world.
