British newspaper suggests going to Vietnam for the trip in 202

05/01/2023

In the list of the best new journeys in the world in 2023, Wanderlust newspaper suggests readers to visit Vietnam.

Wanderlust (UK) newspaper has just suggested the most interesting destinations in the world, encouraging tourists to visit in 2023 for top new trips. The names selected by tourism experts have a common point of preference for experience, cultural discovery, history, and nature, instead of relaxation.

Accordingly, tourists should visit Vietnam – Cambodia in a joint itinerary. Wanderlust calls this a leisurely trip, starting from the South of Vietnam to the temples of Angkor in Cambodia.

Visitors go through the Mekong Delta to see the floating market, the flooded forests, and the life of the people living in the river. Crossing the border, visitors call on Kep fishing village, pepper farm, fish market, national park, and riverside town of Kampot. Followed by a short day trip to the capital Phnom Penh, cruising along the Mekong River, enjoying food, driving to Battambang town, and taking a boat to Tonle Sap lake. After that, visitors will go to Siem Reap and end the journey with two days of exploring the Angkor complex. The whole trip takes a minimum of 16 days and costs about $5,000.

Other Asian locations also mentioned in the list are Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka or Mongolia. In Japan, tourism experts suggest that visitors spend time learning more about the people’s way of life and culture, such as the wabi-sabi (accepting imperfection) lifestyle. Must-have experiences when coming here include: learning about meditation, forest bathing, soaking in hot springs, cooking at home, and drinking tea ceremony.

Like Japan, the journey to Sri Lanka is all about wellness through being immersed in nature and the local community. Some recommended activities are yoga, forest bathing, cooking, volunteering, and spending the night in local accommodations. These activities give visitors mental strength, peace of mind, and improved health.

In addition, Wanderlust also suggests some other familiar destinations such as Canada, the USA, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Greenland, Iceland, and Peru.
