5 ancient villas at the Bao Dai palace relic area built 100 years ago will be returned to Khanh Hoa province by the investor of Bao Dai resort Nha Trang project.

Leaders of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee said that the investor of Bao Dai Nha Trang resort project returned 5 villas at the Bao Dai palace relic area at the request of the province.

Accordingly, after receiving the work, the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province will assign the Department of Culture and Sports to set up the renovation project.

Along with the return of 5 villas, the investor wants the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee to consider and soon approve the plan to adjust the project construction planning, because the suspension of construction for many years causes business damage.

It is known that the Bao Dai palace relic area is more than 12 hectares wide, built by the French on Canh Long mountain in 1923 to serve as accommodation for oceanographers.

Here, there are 5 villas built in French architecture named after the surrounding plants such as Xuong Rong, Hoa Su, Hoa Giay, Phuong Vy and Cay Bang.

In 1940 – 1945, Emperor Bao Dai and Queen Nam Phuong often came here to relax, so the name Bao Dai palace is from that time. In October 1995, Khanh Hoa province recognized Bao Dai’s villa area as “historical, cultural and scenic relic”.

In 2013, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approved the 1/500 detailed planning, allocating more than 13.6ha of land (including more than 8.9ha, including the entire scenic area of Bao Dai palace and Canh Long mountain, and 4.7ha of sea surface national scenic spot Nha Trang Bay) for Khanh Ha Investment Joint Stock Company to implement Bao Dai Nha Trang resort project.

All 5 villas mentioned above are owned by Bao Dai Nha Trang resort project. Along with that, the project aims to build a high-class resort with a 5-star hotel, villas, service and auxiliary works serving the resort and preserve and embellish existing works and landscapes around.

Worth mentioning, during the implementation process, the project incurred many violations, was administratively sanctioned by the inspector of Khanh Hoa Department of Construction, suspended from 2017 until now.
