Vietnam-China connect to open “Two countries – Six destinations” golden tourism route
06/04/2023On the afternoon of March 28, the Tourism Department of Hanoi City, in coordination with the Tourism Departments of localities such as Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, and Chau Hong Ha, Yunnan province (China), organized a conference to promote the launch of the “Two Countries – Six Destinations” tourism route of China and Vietnam, including: Con Minh – Chau Hong Ha (China) – Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh (Vietnam).
Attending the event were leaders of the Chau Hong Ha authorities, the Chau Hong Ha Tourism Bureau, representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, as well as leaders of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism along with 4 provinces and cities: Ha Noi, Lao Cai, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and 300 travel businesses of the two countries.
The event aims to promote and develop tours and tourism routes between the two countries, including destinations such as Côn Minh – Châu Hồng Hà (China) – Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh (Vietnam), while also exchanging information on tourism development, introducing and promoting tourism, and creating opportunities for travel businesses of both localities to understand needs and explore opportunities for investment cooperation.
At the conference, Chau Hong Ha Party Secretary Trieu Thuy Quan stated that the Vietnam-China relationship is deeply connected and solid. The expansion of trade between the two countries after COVID-19 provides favorable conditions for people of both nations to develop their economy and cultural exchange. Thus, launching the “Two Countries – Six Destinations” golden tourism route of China and Vietnam is a great opportunity to promote the tourism of both nations.
“Chau Hong Ha tourism has undergone changes after COVID-19, with the formation of many new tourism products. Vietnamese tourists coming to Chau Hong Ha can discover attractive heritages such as thousand-year-old terraced rice fields, unique cuisine, and the traditional cultural beauty of the Hani ethnic group living here,” said Chau Hong Ha Party Secretary Trieu Thuy Quan.
On the Vietnamese side, Director of the Hanoi Tourism Department Dang Huong Giang stated that Hanoi always identifies China as a key international tourist market, and Chinese tourists love destinations in Vietnam such as Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh,… as well as other culturally rich tourist spots. “Vietnam is an ideal destination for Chinese tourists who prefer MICE tourism, cuisine tourism, golf tourism, etc. Currently, Vietnam in general, and Hanoi in particular, is ready to welcome Chinese tourists with new, unique, and attractive tourism products and services,” Giang said.
According to Dang Huong Giang, to attract Chinese tourists in the coming time, Hanoi will focus on investing in developing unique tourism products, upgrading destinations, technical infrastructure, service infrastructure, tourism environment,… as a foundation for sustainable tourism development and promoting the attraction of international tourists, including Chinese tourists on the tourism route: Côn Minh – Châu Hồng Hà (China) – Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh (Vietnam) towards the goal of restoring and developing tourism in the capital city of Hanoi.
In addition to upgrading services and building new products, the Hanoi Tourism Department will report to the Hanoi People’s Committee to organize promotion programs and advertise tourism products in key markets, including Yunnan province, China.
Speaking about the significance of the conference and the partnership to open the golden tourism route between Vietnam and China and six destinations, Director of the Chau Hong Ha Cultural and Tourism Bureau (China) – Zhao Wei said that after the launch of this collaboration, Chinese tourists to Vietnam will increase and vice versa, Vietnamese tourists traveling to China will also increase. It is hoped that this collaboration will promote the tourism industry even stronger.
Ms. Giang Thi Dung – Vice Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee said that up to now, the tourism industry in Lao Cai has prepared the best conditions, with the most ready attitude, always warmly welcoming tourists from China with quality tourism services, fully meeting the needs of tourists.
This collaboration is considered a tourism product that bears the hallmark of the friendship and cooperation between Lao Cai province, the provinces in Vietnam’s economic corridor, and Yunnan province, China. It meets the needs of sightseeing, exploring, experiencing of tourists from both sides. The program contributes to proving the responsible and solid cooperation relationship, opening up new prospects and opportunities for cooperation in the tourism industry of both sides.
At the conference, the six destinations of Vietnam and China were introduced through beautiful images, videos, clips of terraced rice fields, ancient tile-roofed houses, magnificent natural landscapes, and the lives of ethnic minorities. According to local leaders and tourism companies of Vietnam and China, they expect to soon coordinate to implement this tourism route, bring tourists back and forth between the two countries.
For many tour companies, they hope that the cooperation between the two countries will be a lever to promote the tourism development of Vietnam and China. At the same time, these companies also hope that the management authorities will be involved in this collaboration.
