Vietnam Culinary Challenge 2017admin - February 27, 2019
Held alongside FHV2017, Vietnam Culinary Challenge 2017 (VNCC) was a grand cooking competition that engaged culinary enthusiasts to spotlight their cooking talents and encourage their development. 255 individual contestants along with 3 teams gathered to compete in various challenges such as Vietnam cuisine, hot cooking, pastry, fruits and vegetables carving, where Mr. Watcharapon Chareonwimonrak from the Thailand Culinary Academy was crowned grand champion.
Commenting on the success of VNCC 2017, Mr. Norbert Ehbar – Saigon Professional Chefs Guild, the Secretariat of Vietnam Culinary Challenge mused, “I was overwhelmed with the number of participants entering to an extent where we had to turn people away. I was also very happy to welcome a large contingent of participants from the Thai Culinary Academy and the KDU University in Penang, both adding quality and competitiveness to VNCC. The quality of the cooked dishes and carving exhibits has greatly improved from past years and we hope that this trend will continue to develop and grow in the near future.”
